From: El Dorado Nordic Ski Patrol, Inc. The Echo to Kirkwood Race and Tour is a cross country ski and snowshoe race held each spring in the high country of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California. The race serves as the primary fund raising activity of the El Dorado Nordic Ski Patrol. The Patrol is a non-profit, volunteer organization based in El Dorado County and is a resource for the El Dorado County Sheriffs Office, the United States Forest Service and the general public. Recent and continuing volunteer service by the El Dorado Nordic Ski Patrol includes: * Organize and participate in search and rescue operations for lost skiers and hikers in various backcountry areas in and near Desolation and Mokelumne Wilderness areas and "out of bounds" at ski resorts Funds generated from the race are used to finance these public service activities and search and rescue operations. We are asking for donations of cash and/or products. We have several options for sponsorship described above. Please review these options and see if they will work for you and/or your company. * Provide winter safety classes for associated public service agencies, other volunteer organizations, and the Boy Scouts of America
* Provide beginning and advanced map and compass training classes for the general public, outdoor enthusiasts, and sports groups
* Mark and maintain over 53 miles of cross country ski trails with "blue diamond" safety trail markers
* Staff the Loon Lake Chalet and Carson Pass Information Center to provide assistance to winter recreation participants using those areas
* Construction and maintenance of public rental facilities: Robb's Hut, a mountaintop lookout; Van Vleck Bunkhouse, a cabin located near the Desolation Wilderness Area; and the Shadow Hut Project

All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

$25 Donation:
Your name or your company's name will be printed on the back of the race T-shirts (approx. 500 shirts)
$50 Donation:
Your name or your company's name will be printed on the back of the race T-shirts in larger size text (approx. 500 shirts)
$250 Donation:
Your company logo imprinted on the back of the race T-shirt, race posters, race applications and the EDNSP website (www.EDNSP.org)
$500 Donation:
Your company logo printed larger and in a prominent location on the back of the race T-shirt, your company will be listed as a sponsor on the race posters and applications, your company will be mentioned in all press releases issued by EDNSP in regards to the Echo to Kirkwood Race and Tour as being a major sponsor of the event, and your company can advertise at the start and finish of the race. 
Prize Donations: Prizes are awarded in the categories as shown below. If you have goods, services, or products which could be used for any of the following categories, please help us with your donation.
Competition Awards:
* First Place Finishers, Ski and Snowshoe, male and female. Four similar prizes
* Second Place Finishers, Ski and Snowshoe, male and female. Four similar prizes
* Third Place Finishers, Ski and Snowshoe, male and female. Four similar prizes
Age Class Awards (Skier Only):
* There are 6 age classes for skiers, with male and female prizes for each class.
* First place: 12 items
* Second place: 12 items
* Third place: 12 items
Single prize donations are also needed and are used as raffle prizes at the "After Race Party".
Food and Beverage Donations: This race is unique and extremely challenging. It requires racers to ski or snowshoe 13 miles across the Sierra crest on a backcountry trail. Because of the remote route location, it is important to have well stocked Aid Stations along the race course. We are looking for donations of food and beverage products to give to the racers before, during, and at the "After Race Party". Items in particular that we need include: cookies, soda water, non-alcoholic beverages, energy snacks, soup, bread, yogurt, and other healthy foods.
Make Up Your Own Package: Perhaps you have better ideas, products, services which can be of benefit to us in putting on this event, or with our activities in general. Please feel free to make offers and suggestions, we are open to all ideas.
Sponsorship Deadlines: To qualify for advertising, we need your donation by the following dates:
* December 6, 2005 - Application and poster (Donations $250 and greater)
* January 30, 2006 - Name or logo on T-shirt (All donations)
* February 28, 2006 - Non-cash donations
